I also have a wildlife video camera that I leave out overnight to record foxes and badgers that visit my garden.
The videos are in 30 second parts, and sometimes I get a clip that has been triggered but only shows the last few seconds.
All I need to do is remove the empty sections from the clips.
Could there be something in Windows I’m not aware of that helps with this?

DaVinci Resolve – the top free video editing tool with strong features
CapCut – a user-friendly free editor with added depth

Avidemux is the easiest to use and quite compact too.
Tips: If you only trim i-frames, you won't need to re-encode the video.
At the bottom near the time indicator, it displays the frame type you're on.
The double arrows jump to the next i-frame in the video.

I slap myself in the face ..... the solution was staring straight at me.
The video section was set to 30 seconds per clip i dropped it to 15 seconds and as long as something is still in front of the camera it will set going again for more 15 seconds bits.
