I was thinking about installing G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000mhz for a gaming PC setup, but a friend who used the same module reported some problems. I’m curious if others have faced similar issues or if there are more reliable options available.

This RAM is likely used in many gaming PCs. It's quite common. Your friend might consider returning it if they had issues, but that statement doesn't clearly mention the RAM. If you need it, it's available—just make sure it's the right type.

Choose the compatible CPU and motherboard for this setup. The RAM works well if it meets the advertised speed. Look up the specifications in your motherboard’s QVL, which is located in the support section of its product page.

You intended to utilize a Ryzen 3600 along with an MSI B450 Gaming plus MAX.

You're seeing this because the item isn't listed in the QVL, which means it hasn't been verified for the claimed speed. This doesn't guarantee it won't work, but it's better to pick something from the QVL if you're unsure. I've got the CPU and motherboard you mentioned—https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-GAMING-PLUS-MAX. Just check "Compatibility" and then "Memory by RX-3x00".
