War Thunder is incredible and completely free to play. Just be cautious with Russian players.

I used to enjoy War Thunder, but now when I pilot my favorite planes (WW1 biplanes) I face off against Spitfires and Falkenwulfs. It might still be worth playing if you opt for the realistic mode, though the arcade version is definitely a letdown. As for flying mechanics and overall experience, it’s top-notch, but the matchmaking isn’t my favorite.

Warthunder stands out as one of the top arcade flight games I've ever enjoyed. Its realistic aspects are more about fun than strict accuracy compared to titles like IL2, but it definitely put in the effort.

Sure, War Thunder is great, but you might find it challenging to keep up with the grinding process. It can be quite time-consuming to complete everything.

For fans of WW1 aircraft, the 2 Sturmovik 1946 Dark Blue World mod is worth checking out. You can find it on YouTube—it's an excellent WW1 flight simulation. Just note it doesn't support multiplayer.
