It seems you're suggesting a hardware upgrade. The Intel Core i9-10900K (3090) is handling heavy workloads quite well.
I'll continue checking if anyone else faces this issue right now, because others with the same rating and specs aren't experiencing problems. Thanks for the support!
Noted the situation where keeping GPU utilization high forced me to boost resolution, yet CPU remained near 90% load. No FPS change when switching CPU frequencies from stock to 5GHz, matching modern 10th-gen chips. Possibly an M.2 SSD is limiting bandwidth, though it doesn’t clarify the CPU behavior. The 3440 x 1440 display is fairly high, close to 4K, so GPU limits seem triggered only at extreme settings. CPU usage is normal in games like Doom, Halo MCC, and COD CW.
I’ll check if I can obtain something stronger and test whether it helps. Also, I saw that in the games where my CPU usage is around 50%, the GPU stays near 70-80% capacity.
Which game are you playing? I only have the 3080, and the only titles where I stay under 95% GPU load are WoW. At standard 1440p (not ultra high), it's not that demanding. CP2077, AC games, etc., all require near full GPU power and CPU around 75-90%. Most recent 1440p games (not ultra high) hit their limits. When people say the 8700k peaks on the 2080ti, it’s usually not accurate. The 3090 could be a bit too much. WoW will decrease in popularity but isn’t very efficient. It still appears low CPU when GPU drops, mainly because it only handles a few threads at a time. It remains CPU-bound. What’s your ring/cache multiplier? My is set to 4.7GHz and that difference mattered in some tests, so it could help if you’re more CPU constrained. You might also consider boosting your memory overclock or make sure XMP is turned on.
