Are you experiencing recurring BSODs such as "WHEA_Uncorrectible_Error" and then "Boot Drive Not Found"?
Hello All,
I've been using this HP Victus 15-fb10xxx Laptop for the last four years without any issues. It's my primary development machine.
Details: Ryzen 5 5600H, Radeon RX6500M, 32GB RAM at 3200MT/s, Samsung PN MZVL2512HCJQ-00BH1 SSD 512GB.
Over the past three weeks, I've encountered occasional BSODs and a recurring F30 error (Boot Drive Not Found). Removing and reinserting the SSD resolved everything temporarily, but the same issues persist. The SSD health was reported at 98% by CrystalDiskInfo after testing it in an external NVMe reader.
I recently installed Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, which initially worked well but later led to random freezes and similar F30 errors.
Now I'm considering reverting to Windows 10, though its EOL is near. Could you assist?
No Minidump available; the error codes appear to be critical process failures and uncorrectable issues.
Specific codes: 0xFFFFA30937FD70CO 0x0000000000000000 0xFFFFA30937FD70CO 0x0000000000000000
Replace the laptop's CMOS battery
Perform a Samsung Magician check
Apply the necessary firmware update to the SSD
Verify if the SSD is securely fastened in the laptop
You're experiencing BSODs and drive-not-found issues in Windows alongside similar problems in Linux, suggesting a potential hardware or software conflict. Consider switching the drive.
The fit of the SSD is satisfactory and it seems there is no CMOS battery in my laptop, probably.
Samsung Magician isn't compatible with my SSD.
Obtain a fresh SSD. Ideally, a Gen3 model. It won't be as warm as a Gen4 one.
Power on the BIOS, verify that the system time and date are accurate. If they are incorrect, this indicates a failed battery backup. Search for instructions on replacing the battery in an HP Victus 15-fb10xx Laptop, focusing on swapping the small CR2032 battery (the most common type). These batteries typically last 4 to 5 years before failing. A malfunctioning backup battery could account for your issue, especially if another system showed no problems. If this doesn’t resolve the matter, proceed to update the BIOS, chipset drivers, and retest.
