Hello everyone! I’m glad you’re all enjoying a great Sunday. Recently, I shared an experience where my PC would restart during Cyberpunk 2077 playthroughs, but without any visual output—just fans and RGB lights keeping running. The situation improved significantly after several adjustments: installing a better CPU cooler, replacing the power supply, checking SSD and CPU temps, connecting the PC directly to a wall outlet, reinstalling Windows twice, and even returning my GPU to the manufacturer. Yet, just a few hours ago I realized in my BIOS (ASUS) that my RAM profile wasn’t set to 3600 MT/s. My Kingston Fury Beast 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 RAM is currently running at 2400 MT/s. After switching it to the correct speed and playing for ten minutes, my PC restarted immediately. However, yesterday at 2400 MT/s and this morning it operated smoothly for longer periods. I’m puzzled by this, but a Reddit thread mentioned that overclocking RAM might not always be the best approach. My main question is: if I don’t adjust my RAM speed to its recommended 3600 MT/s, will I still be able to use all 32GB effectively? For instance, if a game needed 24GB of RAM, would my 32GB at 2400 MT/s still suffice? Thanks for your advice and support! P.S. I also ran MemoryTest twice without errors, but I forgot to update that section.

Performance isn't the factor; storage remains consistent at 32gb. Consider using 3200mt/s for optimal results.

Gaming prioritizes quantity over speed unless you need productivity-related performance.

Hello, thank you for the update. I also ran MemoryTest and it didn’t report any issues. I’m not very familiar with settings, so I’m unsure how to adjust the speed to 3200 MT/s. If you can share a video demonstrating the steps for an ASUS motherboard, it would be really helpful.

I only want to enjoy video games. No other tasks, no streaming, nothing extra. Just playing games.

Identify the CPU and motherboard brand and model. Configure BIOS settings to activate XMP/DOCP and adjust RAM speed to 3200.

Key concern – CPU and motherboard choice. After choosing a stable speed, use OCCT to check for any issues before proceeding.

So you seem indifferent to speed. With 32GB of RAM, everything seems manageable. Just think of it as 32 people moving back and forth, fetching water from a river—no matter how slow they go, it’s always happening.

cpu? board? assuming it isnt zen(+) or haswell-e rm that ram as it doesnt run at its advertised frequency and considering this is a slow <4000 bin where xmps just work out of the box and its a very common bin then it should have no issue running at advertised frequency it isnt outright faulty but id consider it defective if it doesnt run at advertised freq hence rma is applicable and you should just rma to save yourself the hassle of manually tuning the ram only to have it run slower than rated xmp anyways if you cant be bothered to rma then send a thaiphoon burner screenie and ill go look up a reference for the ic that you should be able to just plug and play

The king of monks is testing the CPU at 5600X with MOBO ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS, achieving 3000 MT/s. Good luck to everyone!
