A little more than a week ago, my PC started having this problem where I couldn't restart without it freezing instantly. I had to force shut down, and then when I tried to boot again, it froze right at the Windows loading screen, requiring another shutdown. The initial BIOS boot works fine, and I can enter the BIOS normally, so it doesn’t seem like a hardware failure. However, after leaving the PSU unplugged for a long time, I only managed to fully boot into Windows once again, which makes me concerned about other possible causes besides a fresh Windows install.

My PC
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide complete system details. Please list your specifications in the following order:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU, along with its make and model. Also, note the current BIOS version for your motherboard.
When I attempt to restart the PC, it freezes again as soon as the loading circle appears for Windows. This could indicate an OS corruption or a failing drive on which the OS is installed.
If the drive you're using contains critical data and a reinstall would erase everything, consider borrowing (not purchasing) a spare SSD and installing the OS onto it with all drives disconnected to check if the problem continues.

Are you using Windows 11? Before proceeding further, I suggest attempting a repair using a bootable USB drive from Windows. If that succeeds, you can perform some file organization or backup of essential documents, then either retain them if they appear fine or replace the SSD for a fresh installation if you have any doubts.

Do you have a bootable file available for testing on other media?

It could indicate a severe failure, such as a third-party driver during startup. Try booting Windows in Safe Mode. Turn off the PC three times during the boot process, and it should launch into the Recovery Environment to choose Safe Mode. In this mode, a minimalized Windows system runs, loading only essential services and drivers. Usually, no third-party drivers are installed. This means you won’t be able to perform meaningful tasks or play games, and many devices might not function correctly due to missing drivers. Your display may appear low resolution since it relies solely on the basic Windows driver.

If stable in Safe Mode, you’ll identify the issue as a third-party driver or service loading at startup. We can assist in locating it if needed.
