Hello, I'm encountering identical BSODs in Davinci Resolve on Windows 11 24H2.
Processor and memory tests show no overheating or faults—my system runs OCCT, Cinebench, Prime95, MemTest, Windows memory test, AIDA, Superposition, etc., with max CPU at 84°C and GPU at 74°C. Games barely exceed 65°C, while professional tools like Premiere Pro, After Effects, Topaz Video AI, Shutter Encoder work perfectly.

In Davinci Resolve everything seems normal except for this:
- When I create an empty timeline (1920x1080), add a video, enable NVidia SuperScale X4, run Lens correction analysis, and move the playhead back and forth, it triggers instantly—sometimes in seconds, sometimes minutes.
- The error always appears as a dxgmms2.sys bsod.
- It occurs with any material and codec, regardless of drivers (570.xx, 566.xx) or GPU version (new/old).
- It happens even when third-party plugins are used, without editing the video.
- It also happens with disabled iGPU (as per Device Manager in BIOS), with all non-Windows processes off, and even with older drivers.
- It only appears in Davinci Resolve, not in other software.

I’ve tried using DR for 2 weeks (12 short videos) and still see this issue. Some might say it’s a problem with the software, but community members and Reddit users on Backmagic suggest it’s hardware or software-related, and DR has no involvement.

I've submitted bug reports to:
- Blackmagic Design – no response
- Nvidia – suggested workarounds (DDU, disabling GPU scheduling, forcing 4080 in Cuda/OpenGL, etc.)
- Palit (my card vendor) – asked for help but NVidia said they don’t make drivers
- Microsoft – no reply; MS community recommends older drivers

I also have logs here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1...VFg9J97OfN
And more details at:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/16I41ftn...028eH/view

It’s frustrating, and I’m running out of ideas. Please help.

It occurs with 570.xx and 566.xx drivers, covering both GR and Studio versions. Reinstalling DR didn't work, so I tried the simplest fixes first. I'm unable to reinstall Win right now due to multiple projects, but I'll try again later—though it's uncertain if it will help.

The event viewer displays identical results, indicating a problem with the current system file and requiring a restart.

It might be a damaged or faulty DirectX file. Consider using the built-in Windows troubleshooters to identify and resolve issues. After that, execute "dism" and "sfc /scannow".

Additional resources:

When installing or updating drivers, do so directly through the manufacturer's official site.
Download, install, and set up manually—avoid third-party tools.
Ensure you're using the genuine source website; a matching name or model doesn't guarantee authenticity.

Reinstalling Windows with at least some software installed (Adobe package, browser, shutter encoder, no antivirus or other programs) didn't work.

Consider removing DR and refrain from reinstalling.
Give the system time to restart a few times over a few days.

It's been a bit of a struggle for you too. You've faced the same problems repeatedly—constant BSODs while working on a particular project. You switched from DR 20 to 19 and adjusted the drivers, but nothing resolved the issue. You've run numerous hardware tests and even reinstalled Windows without success. The DaVinci Resolve always triggers the BSODs. In Windows Explorer, your Panasonic Lumix thumbnails keep appearing with glitches. After making some changes, you're no longer experiencing these problems, though you've lost your DR20 projects. You'd rather start over than keep wasting time on this frustration.

Hi. It's been a while since I've experienced any BSODS, really. None of the usual fixes from the forum members worked, so I explored various alternative methods and still don't know which one actually helped—or if it did at all. Since I no longer use the SuperScale feature in DVR, that might be a factor. However, two things seem to have made a difference: I don’t have Chrome installed (I’m using Opera) and I have the latest 576.02 NV Studio driver. I’m not sure if this combination resolved the problem, but I tried running SuperScale for an hour after updating the driver, and it never caused a BSOD. Now I’ve completed about six or seven projects without any visual issues, unlike others who faced similar problems. As for Chrome, well, when I used it to watch videos, the browser would freeze for a second or two. I could fix it by adjusting the window size, but it didn’t happen when I disabled Chrome’s GPU acceleration. It seems the video driver was likely involved, so I decided to switch to Opera and update the driver once it became possible. I wouldn’t be too optimistic yet, but things are improving. The Blackmagic team seems aware of this issue and has managed to reproduce it, which hopefully means a fix will be included in the next DVR release.

Same DXGmms2.sys crash with SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED on my PC, except I don't use DaVinci Resolve. It occurs when I open VS Code or Cursor. Nvidia drivers are up-to-date.
