He should consider using the Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2. It fits the budget and offers solid performance for gaming at 1080p with 60fps. The combination of your old PC parts should work well, especially if you pair it with a good power supply and RAM. Just make sure the motherboard supports the new CPU and that the case can handle it.

This offer looks solid for these older Xeons. When evaluating prices, always check against i7 options. The 2600 matches specs closely, just a bit faster by 100MHz. The 1650 super remains a solid choice now, but if budget is tight, a used RX 570 could provide extra room for better components like a more robust power supply.

It might be around 1650 watts since the base TDP is 65W, which suggests a better power supply design for a budget model.

Opt for a reliable used model instead of settling for a subpar one. A refurbished RX 570 paired with a solid Corsair CX450 offers superior performance without breaking the bank, while a decent PSU ensures stability and efficiency.

The 1650 super offers value while staying within budget. I’m also fine with an i7 2600, though I’ve heard the Xeon is nearly as good at around 75-80 euros. There’s a model listed at 59 euros and it goes up to 65.

The combo already includes a PSU, I mentioned it wasn’t the best and he said he plans to upgrade his card later, so he’ll likely get a quiet 9.6kW 80 Plus Bronze unit to replace the one in the combo. The new PSU will have a 6-pin connector, which shouldn’t cause any issues.

Yeah, I told another friend who likes staying quiet about buying it, since being silent is exactly what it’s about. When I went to help him set it up, everything was just quiet and really impressive. For just 60 euros it feels like a must-have. I’m using a heavier rig than them—RTX 2060 SUPER AMP and a Ryzen 2600 that’s aiming for a R7 3700x or 3800x. I want a Be Quiet straight power 11 750W 80 Plus Platinum so I’m future-proof, and it’s a solid price at 135 euros.
