Likely due to the different hardware setup. It’s going to cause a lot of issues, possibly preventing it from starting. You haven’t managed this before with something like Windows 95 or 98.

Based on what I understand, it should likely function. As before, having backups would be wise. If needed, you won't be putting much at stake. Edited November 10, 2025 by leclod

You can find an Asian transformer or an adapter, or swap them depending on your location. Many people use foreign devices regularly.

According to what I've heard, the voltage is incorrect and I'll have to adjust the resistor and capacitor. Also, I no longer need the CHEWI; I've set up a pie.

If you're already cutting your losses I'd personally cut off the outlet and replace the plug with an American one. Then, if it fails, I'd salvage the NVMe. You'd save more money and sending Mr. Chewi to the landfill. If you want Chewi OS on another, more powerful computer, you can buy a $14-20 NVME and clone Chewi over using Acronis or other program. If you have a WD or Crucial drive, you can clone it for free. Or with a spare, double clone it from the Chewi to the WD/Crucial, to the $14 NVMe, and not pay for an Acronis license. That's a not shady tech tip for everyone who frequently tinkers with or builds new setups.
