Honestly, even then I wouldn’t have it any other way—I’d rather have a gaming laptop that can be easily taken out if things get really dusty.

That's accurate, but your iPad handled the Afghan mission well last year. My main concern was always staying hydrated.

It seems an iPad lacks a cooling fan. The SP3 model actually features several vents and fans. I'm just concerned about its performance in areas without city airflow.

She’s a fortunate person, to be honest. If you’ve been using a Mac and made the change, don’t go back to Windows. For gaming, stick with your PC build—preferably dual boot with Linux. Keep Windows for work; it offers more support and software compatibility. The Mac approach is better in many ways. Don’t switch! - my 5cents
