Also MHz doesn't equal MT/s in DDR terms, as SavageNeo mentions it operates at double the speed. 800 MHz equals 1600 MT/s.

I understand that. Back then they mentioned you could push it to 2400 at 1200 MHz.

Would a maximum of 1600 affect performance negatively? You managed to reach 1800MHz successfully.

As long as you don't miss the timing, the performance won't drop. However, your system might be unstable.
