Are you applying your slots in the right way?
Hey everyone. I looked into the HWinfo and noticed that on a certain slot with the GPU, it showed as unused. Also, I wanted to confirm if I'm properly utilizing the other slots to achieve maximum performance from my hardware—specifically using Asus Hero 7, an MB GTX 1070, and MSI Gaming X.
They both use the same bandwidth through the PCIe express slot, so swapping the GPU to the other PCIe lane might boost performance.
Hello, Typically you choose A2/B2 for RAM (second and fourth positions available) instead of A1/B1 as before, but it functions similarly because they're on the same channel. Avoid using A1/A2 or A1/B2 or A2/B1. Everything is okay here. According to the site: *1: The PCIe 2.0 x16 port (PCIEX4_3) works with PCIe 2.0 x1 and M.2 slot. The default is Auto Mode, which adjusts bandwidth automatically. If you add a PCIe 2.0 x4 device, the system will detect it and turn off the x1 and M.2 slots. *2: The PCIe 2.0 x1 ports (PCIEX1_1/2/3) will be turned off when the x16 port runs at x4 speed or in M.2 mode.*
Certainly! I understand you're asking about the potential advantages of switching RAM modules. It's important to note that placing them together might affect performance or compatibility, so it's best to follow the manufacturer's guidelines. If you decide to swap them, there could be benefits such as improved stability or better heat management, depending on the specific design and use case.
They mentioned a maximum RAM speed of 800 but claimed there’s plenty more available online!
