I was checking to boost my memory, currently I have "SK Hynix 8GB SDRAM DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL-17" and I plan to add another 8GB. While browsing online, I saw "HyperX 8GB SDRAM DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 CL-15" and was unsure because the CL-xx series differs between the two, making it unclear if they work together.

In most cases, yes. However, when you merge them, both will operate at the slower speed (CL 17).

Latency differences may lead to issues. It might function sometimes and other times not. I’d suggest using the same stick as your current one. Different cl values aren’t guaranteed to work, but they can still cause problems.
