I checked CPU-Z and noticed two cores marked in red. I looked it up online, and several sources suggested TBM3 could be useful. The Intel website mentioned Turbo Boost Max Technology, which implies those cores are optimized for overclocking. Based on that, the two red cores likely represent your best performance options to tune.

The review focuses more on marketing than detailed tech. AnandTech provides a deeper dive into the Intel Broadwell chip. https://www.anandtech.com/show/10337/the...10-cores/2 While CPUID highlights the TBM3 max boost cores marked red, indicating their priority role, this ranking is part of the broader evaluation.

I looked it up quickly since the usual meaning of red is bad. I didn’t code myself, but I’m curious about the colors that aren’t red and what they represent.

I always thought only the marked ones would help in TBV 3.0 (5.2/5.3 single core). Using Manual Overclocking, you could argue for a 5.1Ghz per-core boost with those two Red Labels at 5.2Ghz each. It doesn’t really change much compared to 5.1 Allcore and 6x5.1Ghz plus 2x5.2Ghz.

All processors function smoothly reaching their intended settings. I believed the red/TBV3.0 adjustments were meant for manual overclocking. It seems I could increase the clock speed of the red cores relative to the rest.
