I've had a Gigabyte G5 Gaming Laptop for about two years now and used to run most games that I wanted to play pretty fine when I bought it, but lately things are starting to act up. Now even some games that ran easily before have started having trouble with me. The problem is that when I start playing these demanding games, the laptop works okay for a couple of minutes or so, then suddenly the frame rate drops every other second. It stays low for about a second and then goes back up to normal speed, repeating this pattern over and over throughout the whole game session.

I posted about this issue a few months ago on here, but I thought maybe I fixed it by putting my laptop on an elevated stand that I got hoping that would fix temperature or airflow problems, and I had thought it worked well for a while before it started happening again almost ever since I did the stand thing. So now even after fixing that part of things, the problem is still here which makes me think something else might be causing it like maybe some hardware issue but honestly I'm not sure what exactly it is.

I've done most of everything you would expect to fix this problem: I updated all my drivers, checked temperatures in different games and situations using software tools, even reset the laptop completely, opened it up to clean out any dust that was inside it, but after all those steps it still seems to drop the frames almost like every single game I play a new one with no problems before ever had this issue with most of my VR games too.

I can also try to get a video recording of what's happening right now if that would help me find answers on how to fix this so just let me know thanks for any help you might have.

I've done basically everything that you'd think would fix the problem I updated all my drivers, checked temperatures in many situations and games, verified performance through software, even reset my Laptop, and cleaned out any dust. Did you check if the BIOS on the laptop needs an update? As for your laptop's GPU drivers, did you use DDU to remove all GPU drivers from your platform before manually reinstalling the latest GPU drivers via an elevated command like Right-click installer>Run as Administrator? G5 (RTX 30 Series) Specification | Laptop - GIGABYTE Global World's leading brand of the best gaming laptops and creator laptops. Produce the thinnest, lightest, and high-performance laptops for gamers and creators. www.gigabyte.com Which OS did the laptop come shipped with? Windows 10 or 11?

I haven't changed much in BIOS settings, so I only uninstalled old drivers using DDU. It didn't seem to help at all or maybe a little bit, but it is definitely still broken. I can't figure out how to update the BIOS because that's what came with my Windows 10 installation and it still has the newest version of Windows on it.
