Which version are you referring to? Express or Pro? I usually go with Pro. Not sure if it's different from the other one.

Search online quickly—HitFilm Express lacks audio recording, and Pro also doesn’t support it. It seems I didn’t realize that feature was missing. The best alternative might be Audacity for recording audio.
