I've been looking to upgrade my old setup but don't have much money for it, so I've been watching videos like this.
He uses a server motherboard and RAM, I thought these wouldn't be good for gaming?
Also, would the build in the video support games and Flight Simulator 2020? Better than my current PC.
Processor: I5 2300
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 1050 Ti

If you aim to improve your setup affordably, replace the i5 with an i7 that fits your motherboard and obtain a 1650 Super. Dispose of the 1050 Ti to recoup some funds. Possibly, even your existing i5 could fetch $10 or more.

You can find the specifications for Flight Simulator 2020 and I believe that box wouldn’t be able to handle it.

But would it really be twice as much improvement as playing games compared to what I currently have?

These videos are quite deceptive.
Searching fleabay for used, outdated, or rare components.
"Twice as better" for FS2020? Not possible.

The proper inquiry should have been: "I have these components and this amount of money, what can I do to speed up the system?"
