Both is actually what I do. Initially, trackballs are the best choice. I mostly use Logitech but also have a Kingston and an Elecom. After two decades in the industry, trackballs remain niche because people rarely try to switch to them. Try it for a short time. Once you overcome the initial difficulty and build muscle memory—similar to most new hand coordination challenges—you’ll never revert.
