I own two Toshiba satellite laptops, a C50D-A-133 and a C850D-107. Can I combine parts from both to build one functional laptop? Both have problems the repair shop said couldn’t be fixed.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
If the repair shop mentioned both issues are unresolvable, it's likely the motherboard is faulty. Did the store provide an explanation of what happened and any advice on what to avoid if the problem returns?
If the motherboard is the problem and the rest works fine, then only the RAM and storage can be fixed—at this stage, consider purchasing a new laptop instead of spending time on devices that are no longer repairable.
