Are there any factors to note when comparing these two DDR5 RAM kits?
I'm moving up from an AM4 setup to AM5. I'm retired and don’t have much money left, so I upgrade only when necessary. I still keep my Seasonic 750w power supply, which I recently purchased.
My new CPU is a Ryzen 5 9600x with a 65w TDP, which matters to me.
My motherboard is an MSI X870E Tomahawk with Wi-Fi. It’s refurbished, comes with a 3 Mo refurbisher warranty, and has a one-year extended warranty.
For the RAM, I have two options:
the Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 6000 CL30 and
the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000 CL30.
Both are rated under AMD Expo. They’re similar in price, so that’s not a big concern. The Patriot is still in the box, unopened. The Corsair will arrive this weekend.
Is there anything else you’d like to know?
Difference is minimal if they aren't in QVL, but I favor Corsair mainly because of their consistent dependability. The choice really hinges on appearance and dimensions, especially with a tower cooler.
