Are there any boot problems and game launch difficulties in the new version?
Hello,
I've set up a new am5 system using an msi b650m motherboard. After installing Windows 11 from version 10, I faced persistent problems. Reinstalling Windows 11 helped fix many issues, but the boot time remains lengthy even for a b650m model. Sometimes the system fails to boot during a restart. When launching games, they start and then freeze instantly, forcing the task manager to terminate them. Could there be something I'm overlooking that's causing these difficulties? If I run a system scan in the command prompt, it shows no problems, and all drivers appear up to date.
The system has 32GB RAM with 6000MB installed in slots 2 and 4. It runs a Ryzen 7600x processor and a Radeon 6700xt graphics card. The BIOS hasn't been changed.
Anyone have suggestions on what might be the cause?
How long does the boot process take? Is it slower at the Windows logon screen or afterward? Do you have the most recent BIOS? Are there up-to-date chipset drivers available? Here’s the link for reference: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads.../b650.html What type of SSD or NVMe do you currently use?
I estimate the boot time to be between one and three minutes. It finishes before the login screen appears, which surprised me since I thought memory training would take longer each time. Also strange is that the fans run at full speed until I manually start MSI software on the desktop or BIOS, which both bothers me.
Bios and chipset are current.
SSD is a WD Black SN770 1 TB with about 5100 MB.
It shouldn't run memory training every boot. It might not be running at all—it could be another piece of hardware failing to start, and Windows only continues once it times out. After reinstalling Windows 11, was it a clean installation? Did you erase the SSD? Any old hardware connected? Try disconnecting anything unnecessary at startup and see if performance improves.
