Just thought about it, is a good Evga, Seasonic, Super Flower or Corsair really comparable, like a 120 dollar 850 watt versus a 200 850 watt? Also, everywhere I look seems to miss a PSU with a 3.1 standard or something similar, but I found one from 2023 on a budget if I’m okay spending a bit more. I have a decent power supply but it’s only 600 watts, so I’m not sure if I’ll run into any problems with that setup or not. I was hoping to find something newer for a modern look, and the PSU from SuperPower has nine different protection features, while most others list between five and seven, though OCPC and similar specs are important for an AMD system. I think there’s a spec for Intel somewhere I read, but I’m not sure if it’s meant for AMD or just Intel.

Merely stating a good PSU and it's advertised wattage doesn't help. Please state the make and model of the unit and it's age.

It's a Evga 600gd model that's been around for a while, and the 2080 GPU should work fine with the same power rating. But I'm considering it for future use. Running it at full capacity during intense gaming might not be ideal for the PSU, though it shouldn't cause problems in the short term. If I upgrade to a newer model with 850 or 1000 watts, I'd prefer a modern unit from 2023 or 2024. My initial choice was due to the 8700kW model being efficient and affordable at the time. With so many options, it's tough to decide. I'm just browsing to find recent ATX 3.1 models, preferably in good condition.

I suggest using MSI MAG regularly. 750 and 850W models typically cost around $100. The Corsair RMx series and TX series are usually priced above $120.

Just encountering the PSU power limit won't necessarily impact your overclocked clock speeds. It might keep them off even if it's only slightly above the PSU's capacity.

If any PSU safeguards fail, the system will shut down. Based on the PSU type, during brief interruptions it might temporarily deliver more energy than its specifications allow.

So you think the psu wouldn't be able to slow down clocks by 100 or 200mhz without triggering its safeguards. I'm just curious because, after checking forums, I see my CPU stays well below 69 degrees Celsius even with proper cooling, but compared to others in OC forums it seems slower by around 100mgz on the 3DVACCH model and tops out at 5150, which feels way too low. I've followed the OC setup closely, used a curve optimizer for stability, yet still don't see the clocks matching those of others. I'm wondering if my PSU is somehow limiting the clocks even though it's not tripping any protections. My PSU is still new, but maybe I should consider upgrading someday when finances allow, just to be sure.
