Hello everyone!
I recently assembled a new PC and most of the games are just freezing unexpectedly. I’m trying to understand why. The most affected titles are CS, Apex and Assassins Creed. Discord also experiences crashes from time to time.
Specs:
Mobo: MSI Z790 Gaming Pro
CPU: i7-14700KF
RAM: T-Force Vulcan 2x16GB DDR5 6000
GPU: Radeon RX 6650 XT 8GB GDDR6
Storage: 2TB WD Black SSD
What I have attempted:
Updated drivers (using the device manager to check, is there a better method?)
Updated motherboard BIOS
Enabled XMP in my mobo BIOS
Disabled RAM one stick at a time
Checked game cache for all crashing games
Could you assist? I’m open to any suggestions and really need your help. I’m just very upset about this new setup failing on old games.
Thanks!

brand and model of the PSU?
Fresh OS installation?

Check your installed applications for any unfamiliar entries and consider performing a malware scan.

Corsair RM750e update without a fresh OS installation—though I wasn’t sure it would affect anything, I’ll send it if it does. I think normal temperatures are fine, so I’ll check them today while I play.

I've checked the task manager during playback and crashes, and CPU/memory usage stayed within normal limits except for potential malware activity. For a thorough check, what malware scan would be most suitable?

Malwarebytes offers a free trial providing a solid scan.
Are you using Windows Defender?
It usually scans for malware.
