Are games suddenly stopping?
I assembled a new PC last October:
Motherboard: Asus Strix Z690-E
CPU: i7-13700K
GPU: RTX 2070
RAM: 2 x 16GB DDR5
Storage: 2TB WD SN850X M.2 NVMe SSD
PSU: 850W
All components were integrated into a build, and I reused my RTX 2070.
Initially, games ran smoothly with no problems, supporting high settings from 100 to 144 frames or more. After upgrading to a 1440p monitor, there were only minor frame issues. Then BO6 appeared, causing crashes despite acceptable performance. I updated drivers, adjusted settings slightly, and tried several fixes, but the problem persists—games crash around the midpoint, either instantly or after a few minutes. I’m seeking assistance.
The brand and model of the 850W PSU are not specified in the provided context.
I understand from past experiences that BO6 wouldn't load and hangs when the CPU is overclocked. Avoid any overclocking, such as RAM, GPU, or CPU. Adjust BO6 and other game textures to medium settings (not low). Configure NVIDIA 3D settings in the NVIDIA control panel to performance or high performance. Check if this resolves the issue. What version of Windows is it... 24H2?
Yeah, I also removed the overclock, but it didn't help. I'm using Windows 10 22H2. I'm going to check the 3D settings. Also, I've uninstalled BO6 and am testing it on other games now that keep crashing, like Fort and Rivals and many single-player titles.
I've observed that my dedicated GPU memory is 8.0gb, yet the reported GPU memory is 23.9. It seems the game started crashing very quickly while running CS2. I'm not sure if this matches what I see.
Consider checking for GPU memory usage and reducing it before retrying
Sure, I can provide a screenshot for you to examine the details.
