Hello! I recently assembled my first PC and have been struggling to finish 3D mark graphics tests without it crashing. This issue also affects games such as Elden Ring and Overwatch – whenever I launch a game, it freezes and crashes within a few minutes, often right away. The Event Viewer suggests the problem might be linked to nvwgf2umx.dll, but updating graphics drivers or disabling DDU doesn’t fix it. Outside of gaming, everything functions normally. There’s no BSOD, and the system remains stable except for occasional Chrome crashes. Could anyone assist in guiding me toward a solution? Below are my PC specifications and the tests I’ve run.

CPU: i7-13700k – purchased from ebay.
GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER OC
RAM: gSkill Ripjaw DDR5 6800mHz 2x16gb
Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk z790 Wifi DDR5 – open box from ebay
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2Tb
AIO: Corsair h115i elite capellix xt
Case fans: 4x Corsair AF120
PSU: Corsair 750e
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Completed tests:
GPU:
- Monitored temperatures; peak reached 60°C under load.
- Restarted drivers to the previous version.
- Turned off WIFI and DDU drivers in safe mode, then updated drivers locally (WIFI remains disabled).
- Verified all electrical connections and reinserted GPU.
- Installed GPU on a friend’s system – it works fine.
- Installed GPU plus SSD on a friend’s system – also works fine.

RAM:
- Passmark results: All good except Database Operations failed.
- Ran Memtest86.
- Ensured RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4.
- Tried enabling/disabling XMP settings; tested at 6800mHz, 5600Mhz, and 4800mHz.
- Tested with a single stick of RAM, then swapped it with another.

CPU:
- Passmark results: All good except Physics failed.
- Idle temperatures around 36°C, max ~60°C under load.

Motherboard:
- Updated BIOS.
- Installed Windows 11 Pro from the installation media.
- Cleanly removed Windows 10 Pro.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Disabled WIFI, DDU drivers in safe mode, update drivers with local file (WIFI still disabled)
When installing your GPU (and pretty much any) drivers, manually install the latest driver in an elevated command, i.e., Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
Updated BIOS
For clarity, please share the BIOS version you're currently using. Did you reset the CMOS after confirming the BIOS update was successful?
Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2Tb
Verify if the drive has pending firmware updates via Samsung's Magician app.

I didn't do this, I'll attempt it when I get home. If it's the problem, I doubt my drive would function on my friend's computer with their GPU. He uses a DDR4 system instead of my DDR5.
I'm using the latest BIOS version 7D91vHA and confirmed it works, but I didn't clear the CMOS. I plan to reflash it later today.
I'll also test this myself, though I expect it to fail consistently despite component swaps.
Thanks for the suggestions—I was running out of options and you provided helpful ideas.

There have been similar experiences. I also own a 990 pro SSD and a 4070 super. From what I've found, DDR5, 13th and 14th generation CPUs, along with the 4000 series super cards tend to be quite sensitive and prone to issues when used together.
