Hi all, over the last few weeks I've faced some sudden spikes and freezes across most of my games. It began with a handful of games that weren't optimized well, such as Squad, but soon spread to all the titles I play—including CS2, Apex Legends, and other esports games. These issues occur when I move around the maps or scope in, or when I switch weapons or fire.

System Specs
Mobo: Asus Rog Strix B650E-F Gaming WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 4080 SUPER 16G GAMING X TRIO
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengence RGB 6400Mhz at cl32 or 30 (exact numbers fading)
PSU: Corsair 1000w Platinum
CPU Cooler: Arctic 280mm AIO
Drives: WD_BLACK SN850X 1000GB and SAMSUNG MZVL21T0HCLR-00B00
I’m starting with the fact that my temperatures are normal, GPU stays under 100% load without exceeding 62–63°C, and CPU never goes above 72°C.

What I’ve tried to resolve:
- Default BIOS settings
- New operating system installed
- Both SSDs tested individually, health above 96/97%
- Crystal disk used and cleared
- Previously owned RTX 3080, replaced with RTX 4080 (expecting the 5000 series)
- Before updating drivers, used DDU and NVcleaninstall
- BIOS updated and tested multiple driver versions for stability
- Chipset drivers kept to the latest
- GPU drivers also refreshed; most remained consistent
- Performed MEMTEST and Windows memory diagnostic
- System verified with OCCT tool, all passed including PSU
- Used default Nvidia Control Panel
- Process Lasso Pro installed (optimized for gaming)
- CPU cores unparked via CPU parking utility
- Tuned CPU in BIOS; PBO set to -16 in optimizer—no change observed
- Disabled HAGS: spikes reduced but FPS dropped slightly in many games
- Applied custom power plan; no problems encountered so far
- Disabled game bar via command prompt
- Ran malware scan with MalwareBytes
- Performed SFC/scannow; one corrupted file found, but issue remained

It’s clear I’ve tested nearly every setting and component. All tests passed, suggesting the problem might lie in a specific configuration or setting I haven’t noticed yet. If you have any suggestions, please share.

Additionally, I’ve run Latency Mon and observed high latency spikes, along with Wdf01000.sys and nvlddmkm.sys being affected.

What BIOS version are you running on your motherboard?
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengence RGB 6400Mhz at cl32 or 30 (I don't remember it precisely)
Do you have a link to the RAM kit you're using?
Before installing new drivers, I usually use DDU and NVcleaninstall.
I often use DDU to uninstall all drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then manually install the latest from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command—Right click installer > Run as Administrator.

This link corresponds to my exact RAM model, which is CL32.
The BIOS version is 3024, believed to be from August 2nd, 2024.
It's the most stable BIOS I've found for my system, and I've been using it for more than three months now.

CONCLUSION
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Your system seems to be having difficulty handling real-time audio and other tasks. You may experience drop outs, clicks or pops due to buffer underruns. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.
LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:07:53 (h:mmConfuseds) on all processors.

REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.
NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.
Process with highest pagefault count: uagame.exe
Total number of hard pagefaults 29757
Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 18261
Number of processes hit: 53

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.
Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 193.30
Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 4.491676
Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 192.0
Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 2.608844

REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.
NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Total number of hard pagefaults 29757

I've been operating the pc without a GPU for more than five months now, and there have been no problems so far. The part number is CMH32GX5M2B6400C32. This RAM has worked well in my previous Intel 13th generation build as well as on both Intel and AMD systems.

Ensure CMOS is cleared after every BIOS upgrade or rollback. This is crucial.
Best practice involves updating to the newest BIOS, resetting CMOS, and then launching the system at default settings, with only basic adjustments like expo. This maintains a stable baseline.

I understand your situation, as your bios hasn't been updated despite using it for a while. It seems the PC has remained stable since you reinstalled it 3-4 months ago. The only changes were to the GPU, which was replaced after the problem started.

Manually close or exit all applications in the system tray near the clock. Additionally, run the command sfc /scannow in the command prompt.
