Are anticheats safe?
You need to rely on their anti-cheat tools because using them is the only option. Most of my time is spent playing solo, so I don’t often encounter them directly.
The only sure way is to avoid those games entirely. It’s actually pretty easy to spot which ones have rootkit AC and are unsafe to use (like Valorant). But honestly, I’m not going to list them all—most of them aren’t even something I play. You’d need to be extremely tech-literate to even try them.
Many anti-cheat systems resemble those used by Vanguard, such as EAC. The issue with Vanguard is that it's controlled by Tencent, a Chinese company, raising concerns about potential misuse by the CCP. Regarding spyware, yes, they can operate at the kernel level, but this approach hasn't stopped cheaters from finding ways around it.
Occasionally people gain advantages. I’m not sure about Vanguard.
