Apply Windows 11 22H2 update to your PC.
The central challenge I face is the 22H2 problem. This update has caused several frustrating incidents. After rolling back in December of last year, I've been careful not to install it again. During my attempts to upgrade, I consistently encounter difficulties: the Settings Menu isn't opening, or I can't reach its contents. The control panel works if I pin it, but Windows automatically selects my monitor as the default audio device, requiring me to navigate through the Control Panel and Device Manager to get my headset functional again. This issue persisted in previous tries weeks ago.
I'm unable to launch the Windows 11 Start Menu or use the Windows + S shortcut for searching. The taskbar remains reachable, but clicking its icons yields no results. Any interaction with the tray—covering Sound, WiFi, Bluetooth, calendar, etc.—does nothing. I can still access the File Explorer, terminal, and run programs via the Windows + R key or right-clicking the Start Menu.
I also note that accessing BIOS is rare; even after a restart, I don’t see any BIOS screen and immediately land on the login screen. Fast boot is disabled, and I often face a boot error during restarts, where the BIOS fails to load correctly. This prompts me to either reboot with optimized settings or shut down completely, which then repeats the process. Safe mode doesn’t resolve these problems.
From a Windows USB perspective, fixing these issues has been limited to either a full reinstall or reverting to a backup of an earlier, non-22H2 Windows 11 version. The Automatic Repair and Drive Repair tools are ineffective, as they produce errors. I've explored this website for solutions, but none have worked so far.
Attached files include my latest DxDiag and msinfo32 results. The Boot and BIOS complications have lasted about a year, while the 22H2 issues have lingered for roughly a month and a half since December 2022—before I purchased the MSI G273Q and the RTX 3070.
Please note that links to the text files are provided for reference, though they are currently broken.
Attempting to open your DxDiag and Msinfo files often results in connection issues. The error messages indicate the sites are unreachable or have changed addresses. Consider restarting your BIOS and using a Windows installation utility if the problem persists.
I only just saw the tiny orange text! Yes, resetting my BIOS to default and then using the Windows USB (made with the creation tool) doesn’t really solve these issues. The only option that works for me is rolling back to a backup, though it doesn’t fix the BIOS problems.
