You're experiencing screen freezing and a persistent dot when launching games on your system. This could be caused by a display driver issue or a conflict with the graphics card. Your specs (NVDIA 1080Ti, i7 i5-7600G, 16GB RAM) suggest a decent setup, but the problem might stem from outdated drivers or hardware conflicts. Try updating your display drivers, checking for conflicts in Task Manager, or resetting the graphics card settings. If it persists, consider testing with another game or reinstalling the graphics driver.

Artifacting often points to a failing GPU. It might require a significant overclock or lead to overheating. Given the severity, it could indicate the entire card is malfunctioning. Occasionally, even the display cable can trigger this problem, so I’d begin by inspecting the GPU first.

Check if the GPU needs attention or if performance has already stopped.

If it's not an original part or overheating, it's time for a return or replacement. Overheating issues can be resolved by adjusting the thermal paste or lowering the voltage.

It might be related to the GPU fans not working. Check for any signs of overheating or other issues.

Yes, if the GPU is overheating, it's important to note that many models operate at or below 60°C, so avoid confusing them.
