Applied new thermal paste and removed the CPU, resulting in a CPU error.
Hey everyone. Yesterday I cleaned my PC, reapplied thermal paste, removed the i7 8700k, and after reassembling everything it displayed errors on both the DRAM and CPU LEDs. Then I put the RAM back in and the CPU in again. Now only the CPU LED is showing an issue. I checked all cables and reattached them, making sure the system was stable overall. It seems there might be a problem with a bent CPU pin rather than a faulty CPU itself. There are no visible bent pins, but I couldn’t see any signs of damage. I took some photos during the process and hope you can still use this machine. It’s still quite capable, and I wouldn’t mind getting a Z370 at all. Thanks for your support!
Ugh, a lot of scrolling here. Pick the best option or jump to the spoiler—it's getting too long. Also, it seems there might be some mess at the bottom left? Possibly. Spoiler.
It seems like you're referring to a possible issue with the thermal paste, but the context is unclear. Could you provide more details so I can better understand and assist you?
