Apple or Windows? This question has been on my mind for a while, trying to decide which is better. Honestly, neither stands out as superior—they each have their own advantages and drawbacks. Since I haven’t used any Apple products before, I’m not sure how they actually function. Here’s the situation: I’m getting a new iPad Pro this Christmas and wondering if it’s possible to merge both platforms for my workflow (I’m a student). Should I go with the iPad Pro?

The iPad Pro might be overpriced for its capabilities, whereas a Windows convertible could be more suitable in most situations. If you still choose an iPad for office tasks, it should work well and allow easy file sharing between devices. This isn’t directly related to your question, but it’s worth noting how you reached the idea that neither option is clearly better without understanding their functions.

Tablets offer limited value when compared to laptops. Installing operating systems like MacOS or Windows on an iPad isn’t practical either. Perhaps it’s worth considering if there are tools for running virtual machines, though that would be complex and require significant effort with minimal benefits. Unless you need frequent movement while using the device, tablets provide little advantage.

For one, desktop operating systems aren't typically available on most tablets. Only Windows tablets offer a somewhat desktop-like experience. If you own a MacBook, you can use BootCamp to install Windows alongside macOS. However, you still need the Windows key. The reverse approach isn't possible because macOS is a locked system, and Apple's terms restrict installation to their hardware only.

I question whether an iPad will enhance your productivity. My iPad often caused distractions, but after purchasing a Surface Pro 4, my workflow improved significantly.
