Someone has already installed an Ubiquiti UDM in an apartment. I'm trying to upgrade my network and need advice on setting it up in a small closet without taking up much space. I was considering a wall mount, but I'm open to other ideas.

Is your apartment experiencing Ethernet drops near power connections? That’s likely where your equipment ends up. If there’s sufficient setup for a patch panel, a mini rack is beneficial. Otherwise… many home users tend to discard it and just connect the cable directly.

The UDM-Pro-SE is too much for an apartment unless you require it for your specific tasks. If you don’t need it, opt for a simple UDR (white) or AmpliFi Alien (black) that provides WiFi without drawing attention.
