On the Apple App Store, reviews for DaVinci Resolve are generally negative. For your new MacBook Air M1, the video you watched earlier worked well, but I’m not sure if crashing problems have been fixed for M1 models yet. Regarding updates, it’s usually safe to delete the old version when installing a newer release.

I've tried resolving some issues on my M1 MBP, and it's been effective. Give the free version a try.
