App for Liquid Metal motherboards
Hello everyone, regarding my boss's request, I need to decide whether to fully remove the CPU socket or keep it in place while applying a protective shield. Should I install the Thermal Grizzly shield without taking out the socket, or is it better to leave the socket installed and add a coating around it? TIA
Thank you for your message. The product in question is the TG Protective shield liquid available at Thermal Grizzly.
Thanks for your response. Appreciate the clarification. I should have included that in the original post. I offered to remove the thermal paste, but he just wants it to substitute it.
Thank you for your message. I've informed him about the situation, noting that any leakage could lead to hardware issues such as shorts.
I don't support the leak idea; instead, I think a durable paste like Noctua NT-H1, H2, Arctic MX-4/5/6, TG Hydronaut, or Aeronaut would be more appropriate. LM seems useful mainly for removal or direct die work, not for this project.
