You have everything ready except the board. You're unsure between the Aorus Master and the ROG Strix Z790-E. Your focus is mainly on gaming, with DDR5 RAM already in place. Which speed do you think would be best for your needs?

Are you focusing on premium products or aiming for a specific gaming performance? If you're after top-tier gear, go for the Master. For memory, no choice exists regarding the pace. Only one option is available.

Oh yeah im going for 1440p gaming, Im looking at mostly the max ram speeds and storage expansion slots, theres only a £40 price difference between the two but im wondering if Master has the edge over the strix on something

Based on the games, a 4090 might be too much for 1440p. But if you can spare the cost, it's always wise to have space to upgrade as games become more demanding.

Absolutely, I understand it's a lot, but for the £400 gap I might need solid proof before moving forward again.

Ok if this was me id go with Gigabytes Mobo, now if this was me this is what i saw that i didn't like. 1st thing with ASUS Mobo is that brick thing sticking up on top of the m.2 slot, on top on of the slot lol (same as the Gigabyte tho theres looks cleaner) then it has this chunky old school looking heatpipe feeding into it. With that said ive read that temps with these plate style coolers on top of the m.2 slots, they run temps more then fine & nothing really to worry about. As long as you install it right, easy job. 2nd thing on the Asus is that silly looking button to pop the gpu out wtf why. Like why ? i wouldn't want to be working on the pc whiles it's still on then by mistake press that then god knows, bugger that for a joke. Gigabyte choice for me. looks cleaner anyway. Safer in my opinion lol (that button). But this is for you. Your coin not mine. That's alot of coin for something even my z690 can do minus a few tiny things that probs if not won't ever need or in terms of performance. They both have diagnosis leds. Side note: at this price you would think they would of have some if not a few G 1/4 ports for water cooling. Guess they don't really do this anymore that's sad. (that 've seen). You could really save money & get the same Performance. Even with a Z690 Mobo so if i was you, i would Definitely look at all the Z690 Mobo's & Z790 Mobo's only Z690-Z790 so you get the Over Clocking ability yes some B Mobo's but your budget go Z series. A rule i do is stick to Z series boards that can over clock & lets face it you are going to want/need it for the temps & high voltages that come stock right out of the gate for 13th gen. I know this personally with what i just upgraded to. I needed to down the voltage or you will get around 90 100oC temps of the cpu. Again this is up to you, tho you can save a ton & use it for better things. Aussie Dollar $1,000 bucks on something a $269 (mine) at most give or take can do more or less. look around man 1st you will see something that will look great. For your needs. Put it in here so the forum can help again.
