For those without funds to purchase a first or second generation CPU and send it back, opt for the AMD 200GE. It's the loaner CPU AMD will provide, and it worked perfectly for me, just like Mobo said. Good luck!

Same problem occurred: Ryzen 5 3600 gigabyte B450 AORUS Elite wouldn't boot up at all, CPU stayed on red. After visiting a local tech shop, the BIOS was upgraded and now MOBO identifies the processor. It's really impressive how much effort AMD and/or motherboard makers put into this.
