Hello,
I just installed a new hard drive on my desktop and am planning to transfer Windows from the old SSD to the new one. My goal is to upgrade from the current 256 SSD with Windows to a larger NvMe SSD. I intend to clone the existing SSD to the new drive, swap it out, and then re-clone it back to the original SSD.
I’m using the free AOMEI backupper standard, but it doesn’t support cloning from the SSD to the HD. I’ve attached some photos for better understanding and would really appreciate your guidance.
Thank you.

The free version of AOEMI does not duplicate the OS drive.
The 30-day trial of Macrium Reflect will handle this.
But... some information about your system?
What motherboard?
Which specific drives are affected?

Thank you for your response.
Your system includes an HP Pavilion TG01 with an HP 8906 motherboard. The storage devices present are a Windows installation on the SSD and a recently added 4TB HDD.

I meant specific details on the drives.
Both SSDs and the HDD.
Make/model.
SATA III? NVMe?
Your overall goal is to replace the current SSD with a new, larger SSD?

This is the latest SSD I plan to install.
New HD
I installed this new HD and am considering cloning Windows onto it.
The existing SSD that currently runs Windows is a standard HP Pavilion Tg01 with 256 GB capacity, which I wish to upgrade.
Is EaseUS partition suitable?
Thank you

The existing SSD uses NVMe technology?
The updated SSD also operates on NVMe?
Your motherboard accommodates only a single M.2 port?
This can be accomplished using an Image, rather than a straightforward transfer from A to B to C.
Macrium Reflect https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree
You only need enough free space on the HDD to store the original SSD's data.
One M.2 slot with an Image
If you possess another storage device (of any kind) with ample free space to contain your current m.2 drive:
1. Download and install Macrium Reflect
2. Execute the software, generating a Rescue CD or USB (you'll utilize this later). "Other Tasks". Make this on a compact USB flash drive or DVD.
3. Within the Macrium client, generate an Image of another storage device. Possibly an external HDD. Select all partitions. This produces a file named xxxx.mrimage
4. After completion, turn off the system.
5. Replace the two drives.
6. Restart using the Rescue USB you prepared earlier.
7. In the toolbar, perform the restore and specify the Image created in step 3, along with the target drive for the new m.2.
8. Proceed and wait for the process to conclude.
9. This should succeed.

Hello,
Thank you for your assistance.
I set up the trial version of Macrium reflect.
When attempting to clone the internal SSD with Windows to the newly installed blank internal HD, I encounter an error and the process stops.
The attached images provide additional information.

Error 2

The process could be utilizing the target drive, such as a pagefile or other system resources.

I'm uncertain.
The target drive is new and doesn't have a program installed.
I notice a page file appears on the disc management screen.
