However, even a 1-2ms delay is insignificant compared to the path through the ISP. It’s clear I’ll need to pull out those random unmanaged, cheap switches now, since I don’t recall them being that fast. I used to chain them together to reduce cable clutter. Plus, many users still rely on old routers—just removed the last one in favor of a bridged 8-port device I planned to run pfSense on, but ended up using it as my dedicated torrent box while also functioning as a switch.
