Any idea what game this is
There was a classic RTS from my youth that I wish to revisit. I no longer have the installation disc or the game's title.
Appearance:
The game appears mostly shaded with shells, as I remember, and it seems more detailed than Age of Empires II. The models are animated rather than static sprites, and it uses a top-down view.
Gameplay:
It’s a kingdom-based RTS where you manage a castle and lose when an opponent or AI defeats it. At the start, you must set up housing and peasants, placing them near a campfire in front of the castle. You’ll also need to construct granaries and storage for resources. Peasant satisfaction depends largely on the taxes you collect from them—being the most beloved king will earn praise from the narrator. Occasionally, bandits will swear loyalty, rewarding you with additional workers.
Intro:
Upon launching the game, you’re greeted by a scene of two kings playing chess; each move triggers a brief event, such as a knight dismantling a tower.
Did the game come out before 1976? In 1977? In 1978? And so on... (rough guess).
Did the game launch after 1990? In 2000? In 2010? And thus on?
What operating system were you using—Windows, Linux, or another?
Visually, it seems like Id mentioned around November 2005, though he wasn't certain. At that moment, I didn't really care about how a game looked. I didn't really pay attention to it either.
Yes, it is accurate to say the game was likely released sometime between 1998 and 2011.
