I'm using McAfee on my personal computer but faced financial challenges and decided to try Avast. I'm curious if others have used it positively and found it trustworthy. Will it work well on my home server running Windows Home Server version 2?

I’m using Avast free antivirus, which generally performs well and offers most of the tools I need. Still, it occasionally shows bothersome popup alerts, and I haven’t discovered a method to turn them off.

Consider getting WebofTrust, because I’m saying why attempt to block a possible infection when you can stop it at its source. Weboftrust is open-source, community-based, and users rate websites; if it has many negative reviews, it gets flagged and alerts you before you proceed. It’s essentially a lifesaver, especially since it’s free.

An antivirus is a program designed to protect your device from malicious software. I haven't used one in years and only encountered false alarms. The few threats I've faced were harmless pop-ups, possibly from Norton.

Hey there, it’s totally understandable. I had to admit I was laughing when I read 'I use McAfee'—it’s a funny moment!

You can turn them off through the settings (as far as I understand) http://imgur.com/UdLsPeT

Avast Free is a solid choice. Many of my grandma's screensaver installers have been caught and removed, which is good news.

I've managed to adjust just the popup's active time, not fully turn it off.
