Would it help if you simply selected 'Upgrade this PC now'? I hope so—I'm still processing the download and unsure about the product key.

Remember that you were mistaken, since I applied it for the first free upgrade using a Windows 7 product key instead of a Windows 10 license.

You should try to relax and adjust your approach. The suggestion was sensible because the instructions clearly mention needing your Windows Product Key for the first installation. It would have been better if you could have simply stated you’ve already tested and confirmed you can use the existing Windows 7/8.1 key.

Do you require your product key available, or should I investigate further?

no one here is aggressively attacking anyone except you. Joking around doesn’t come across as harsh. The text clearly mentions you need a product key, which you mistakenly thought was for Windows 10, and then shared misleading details. You might want to consider talking to a therapist about the frustration you’re feeling from being challenged so easily. It seems you’re not fully grasping the situation. Your quick assumptions suggest you’ve only read this thread once.

You can check your product key using tools in the command prompt or by running specific programs designed for that purpose.

Consider it possible, but avoid the extra work. It’s right near the top of a mess I really don’t want to deal with.
