My computer was built for simplicity from the start—12th gen 12700K, 16GB DDR4, 8GB RAM, 4060Ti CPU, and a 1080p monitor that performs well enough for my use. I attempted to use Steam Overlay or MSI Afterburner, but both failed after just a few days; the graphics kept stuttering under heavy load. When I played CS2, it crashed quickly due to excessive frame rates. Looking at the stats, CPU usage stays low at 24%, GPU peaks around 30% but caps at 200 FPS thanks to settings like motion blur. It seems the system was designed for basic performance rather than high-end gaming.

If your frame rate is constrained, GPU utilization will likely stay below 100%. Running at speeds above 200 fps usually requires more power than available. A full CPU load isn't uncommon, especially with multiple cores. Low overall usage—around 24%—could stem from a few cores hitting maximum speed, leaving room for other tasks.

Everything looks fine, no issues at all. I wasn't aware this was something until now. It really works and doesn't crash or freeze during gameplay. Thanks a lot! I plan to install Cyberpunk and fix it so it functions properly.

Not sure what you mean by stuff up in this context. You mean during assembly of the machine? If you're not artificially limiting FPS and GPU utilization is as low as this, then it could simply mean you're CPU limited. But could also be thermals or power delivery that's limiting you. As long as FPS are fine and there's no excessive stuttering, that's generally not a problem. CPU in turn can be limited by RAM, e.g. if it's not running in dual channel mode or at lower frequency/higher latency. Testing with some graphically mode demanding games is definitely a good idea.

The NVIDIA control panel should be configured to prioritize maximum performance.

It looks like you anticipate this outcome from a similar machine. I’d verify and lower all graphics settings to minimum. For the rest of the PC, consider upgrading the monitor.

You're not entirely off the mark, but once you're retired, upgrading to a new monitor won't be feasible anytime soon.

They cap the frames per second at 200.
