In short, the ASUS TUF Gaming B550 plus Wi-Fi II motherboard paired with a 5600X performed well initially. After upgrading to the 5800X3D, the M2_2 chipset disappeared upon power-off. When booting through BIOS, it functioned properly. I tested everything—hardware, drivers, OS updates, BIOS reflash—but nothing resolved the issue. The only option left was purchasing a larger NVMe SSD and continuing to use M1_1, hoping to offset the M2_2 failure. I reached out to ASUS for a firmware update, but they didn’t respond or assist.
Yes, it functions properly once the 5600x is reinstalled in the CPU slot.
Yes, the CPU is functioning with another motherboard as well. There’s a video confirming it works with two NVMe drives plus one SATA SSD on a different board (ROG Strix B550-F Gaming, non-WiFi). Connecting SATA ports 1 to 4 also works smoothly with the 5800X3D. Consider ordering a new motherboard if you’re planning to upgrade to the ROG Strix B550-A Gaming.
