Hi LAwlz, please don’t judge others on the forum. If you haven’t learned that yet, give it a try. Let God handle that, hehe. I’m comfortable sharing a bit about myself. I’m a minimalist with a tech passion. This means I purchase only what I truly need, when it’s required, and I try to reuse or donate items I no longer use at home. In this way of describing myself, you’ll see I’m not a typical shopper who buys the newest trends every week or month. I’m a minimalist consumer. Thanks for clarifying the term “technocrat” since I’m not in an English-speaking country. Technocrat, what I meant to say was “Technophile.”

Definition of Technophile: When you build a new system once your old one can’t perform satisfactorily, that’s entirely up to personal preference. Instead, I decide on purchases over several years. My approach is about investing in quality and planning ahead. My system is three years old now, so in about two to three years it will be at least five years, after which I’ll replace it with a new one as part of my strategy.

Thanks for sharing some early adopter examples from the start of the AM4 era. Just saw you address the general OP question at the beginning of this thread. Great conversation so far—keep it up!

No, actually I believe I’d opt for a refurbished 3rd generation Ryzen 7 before my 2600X loses performance, likely around the time I’d upgrade to those low-quality RTX cards.
