Hello, I'm working with a Winbond 25Q128JVSQ BIOS chip and have gone through several discussions here. One suggested it could be flashed and read successfully. I'm using Ch341A Programmer but still can't access the bios chip. I removed the chip and am connecting it to the adapter in the 25SPI slot. The AsProgrammer version is v2.0.4, which references the 25Q128JV. Instead of seeing any data, I only get FFs (null). The software recognizes the chip, but I'm unsure if others have managed a 25Q128JVSQ. I've tried using four different programmers without success. Thank you...

You can quickly update the device but not access its contents. Make sure the file is oriented correctly. The BIOS chip is typically used to flash updates, especially when it's attached to the motherboard. Thx for reply - I cant flash it as I indicated and the ASProgrammer is attempting to read the chip and all I get is null FF's. The orientation is pin 1 and is in the socket correctly and the software sees the chip but cannot get the entire information. This OP on another thread on this forum said he can flash it with a link to this specific ASProgrammer v2.0.4. This version does reference 25Q128JV. This Winbond is off a motherboard that we benched and have not been able to find anything of significance that would indicate there is a burned mosfet, capacitor etc. I de-soldered the bios chip because I want to see if I can read it. This board is from a customer and we cannot revive the board and replaced this proprietary STGAubron board with a ASUS. We could not find the original system board and there is only references to this model number that indicate it is no longer available. It's an LGA 1200 510 chip. I am just troubleshooting the board. It will not post. These STGAubron gaming system appears to use non-standard proprietary ( probably Chinese ) Winbond bios chips. These systems are inexpensive gaming towers. When you try and contact them the mailbox must be full and you get delivery failures. We are still attempting & waiting to get a response from them. So for now I just want to see if I can read the chip first.

The provided connection refers to the standard CH341a model—familiar and well-tested—but it doesn't recognize this specific Winbond variant.
