Another Homeplug adapter is leading to intermittent drops in another device.
Hello everyone, I want to start by saying connecting via Ethernet would be the better choice. I understand if I could do it better. For now, Homeplug adapters are my preferred solution. I've included a rough diagram of my network setup. The Thunderbolt RJ45 jacks correspond to the Homeplug adapters. Adapters 1 and 2 are Netgear PLP1000 models, while Adapter 3 is either a Devolo DLAN 200 or DLAN 550 (both facing similar issues). Adapter 4 is also a DLAN 200. I previously used the Devolo 550 for 1 and 2 without problems, but they dropped out occasionally. The Netgear adapters worked fine for those devices, and the Devolo 200 for 4 before that. Using the Devolo 200 adapter for 3 caused it to disconnect from 1. When I connect Adapter 3, Adapter 1 sometimes drops too. From Adapter 2, I can still reach 3 and 4 but not 1. A ping test on Linux shows no response until the adapter reconnects, then a slow ~70 second latency appears. Anyone have suggestions? I haven’t tried removing Adapter 4 yet, though it’s a bit inconvenient. I’m open to ideas and would appreciate any help.
