You can already strip away the main character's voice, you could do that from the start. I don’t really mind; I actually prefer it if he has a voice actor, though I don’t care if he didn’t. Regarding the dialogue options, it’s the same idea. What matters is having an answer that matches my style. If there are ten choices and none of them fit, I’d rather use a dialogue wheel with three options that suit my character. The same applies here—whether they give five, ten, or twenty options, as long as it feels right for my play style, that’s fine.

I really enjoy characters that speak. Of course in an RPG like Fallout you think you're saying "you," but eventually it gets boring. For the next games you just switch faces and reuse the same ones you played in earlier titles. Take Advanced Warfare for example, or most COD games in general. It’s uncommon for your character to talk or make decisions like a real leader or captain should. That can be frustrating at times. They also seem to simplify the dialogue options, probably because players want to get straight to the point. Sure, in Fallout 3 you can ask a lot of questions, but usually they just give backstory or info about the game. Special attention is needed for certain characters to get items or unique rewards by speaking to them in a particular way. For Fallout 4, they probably aimed for a more immersive Wasteland experience—just focus on survival, avoid unnecessary chatter, and stay clear and concise.

The issue is that the old system lets you do things easily, but it limits your options. Now you’re stuck with just three choices, and that feels unfair since you probably have more than four possibilities. It’s frustrating when you’re unsure what your character will actually say, and the only answer that comes up is sarcastic. Is it sarcastic yes or no? Who knows what they’ll actually do?

I want more options to choose from.
This restricts the chat to just a few answers.
It makes conversations feel less lively.

I'm not sure how deep into the game I've gotten, but here I can keep talking with the NPCs for a long time. Sometimes I have to step away from certain characters because they're chatting too much. No, I'm not thinking that having four choices is better than ten with poor ones. I just mean I prefer clear, helpful answers over many bad ones. More options can increase the chances of getting good ones, but it doesn't have to be that way. I said I like quality over quantity, and in this game it's enough for my style. For those who want more choices or personal answers, I totally get it, but I'm happy with how things are right now.

I don't mind the player voice, though I wish it could be turned off. At least someone managed to create a mod that disables it, and fortunately the cinematic dialogues are optional. Otherwise it would feel a bit strange. I really don't like the chat system... I hope we get a skyUI style mod for Fallout that will restore the classic feel.

I haven't played the game, because ive been weary of Bethesda every since i bought skyrim. I won't be thinking about buying this game until its confirmed that there will be no fuckery with mods and that these issues can be fixed. ive watched most of a whole playthrough though.
