I've been using my PC for roughly 3 to 4 months now. I've seen this red FPS counter in the top left corner of my screen. It bothers me because I use huds in Payday 2 that occupy screen space, making it hard to read. My setup is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 gaming card with 3GB of RAM, provided by MSI. I'm not sure if this is from MSI or Nvidia itself, or something else. I've tried several fixes but haven't found a solution.

Have you checked the game settings? Does this happen consistently or only in Payday?

Check the Steam settings to confirm it isn't enabled. Navigate to the main window, select "Settings," then go to the "In-Game" section. NVIDIA doesn't typically include an FPS counter unless paired with GeForce Experience, which I haven't installed.

I verified the in-game options, and it applies beyond just payday. I understand it in CSGO and Ark too.

He isn't referring to the green FPS indicator. Does the person have MSI software running on their desktop? It might be something there that was set up automatically.

I have the steam fps counter on. I thought that might have been the answer, but it wasn't. I have steam's fps counter and the weird red one

I own MSI Dragon Eye and Gaming App, yet I’ve looked through both and found no FPS tracking feature or similar option.

Check what else is installed and active. Close them one at a time to identify the source of the issue. It might be Afterburner, GE, or another monitoring tool.

I stopped all apps and looked one by one; the FPS counter vanished after closing the MSI gaming app. I’ll keep checking to locate the option. Thanks for your assistance!
