Hello everyone, I recently set up Windows 8.1 on my new assembled computer. I noticed that during login, when the photo appears, pressing space or enter doesn’t trigger any animation—just the username and password pop up without movement. Only dragging the image upward works, which isn’t ideal for a desktop. What should I do? This is really frustrating. P.S.: I’ve already tried running sfc /scannow...

When you press enter, it vanishes instantly without sliding. This behavior isn’t smooth—it’s abrupt. To achieve a more natural fade, adjust the timing settings or disable the animation entirely. If swapping is possible, look for options to customize the exit effect. Your frustration about delays is understandable!

Hey there! It sounds like you're enjoying the experience. Running at 144Hz gives a smooth feel, and it seems to work best when you're not logged in.

Open the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization. Add a new DWORD called NoLockScreen with value 1. Restart your computer.

I need to get it, actually. Maybe making it and setting it to zero would help. The issue is I can’t locate the personalization folder.
